Too Many Problems - by Greg Kimura
The dilemma, my love, is
your life is constructed of all these
magnificent problems,
and were you to fix them all
there'd be nothing left of you,
save a naked beautiful soul
weeping to God and to love
which is what we all are in the end.
Instead of fixing all
those problems
perhaps it would be easier
to let them go and just start
weeping for joy.
This beautiful poem was the inspiration for one of the writing prompts in my writing class this week. To do with silence, you wonder? Perhaps not directly, yet it draws me inward, and deeper to beauty, to wonder, to love and to joy. And yes, to silence. And ultimately to a place of heart and mind, where maybe, just maybe, I can let go of my fear, and my fixation on problems, and for one brief, shining moment, just live and breathe in the beauty that IS in the world and the life all around me. And in that moment I just let go and open my heart and be moved and I feel myself start weeping for joy.
